Who am I?

Renata Gluszek

A Gdansk University graduate, a sociotherapist certified in Psychodynamic School of Sociotherapy, a branch of Krakow Centre of Psychodynamic Psychology. Currently undergoing a 4-year training to become a psychodynamic psychotherapist, supervised by experienced senior therapists from Krakow Centre of Psychodynamic Psychology. I am a certified Montessori teacher and co-ordinator who has over 15 years’ experience in working in public and private schools and institutions,  in Poland and abroad (in China, Indonesia, Myanmar, Syria, Ireland and Switzerland). I am an active member of Polish Society of Psychodynamic Sociotherapists and Polish Society of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.

As a therapist, I use the psychodynamic approach with the elements of Transference Focus Therapy (TFP). I regularly supervise my work, both during a group supervision sessions which are a part of my training, and through one-to-one supervision sessions.

Psychotherapy for adults

Psychodynamic psychotherapy can be beneficial for practically everyone who needs this form of psychological support.

It can help people who:

  • suffer from anxiety disorders (panic attacks, anxiety bouts, phobias)
  • psychosomatic symptoms (chest pains, migraines, stomach pains, skin problems)
  • other disorders or neurotic symptoms (persistent thoughts, compulsive behaviour, hypochondria)
  • problems related to sex life (premature ejaculation, anorgasmia)
  • depression and other mood related disorders
  • personality disorders (borderline, narcissism)
  • sleep disorders (insomnia, nightmares, night terrors)
  • eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia)
 

Moreover, this form of psychotherapy is suitable for those who do not suffer directly from any of the disorders described above but

  • need to improve their relations at work and/or with significant others
  • experience lack of satisfaction in life in general
  • suffer from low self-esteem
  • find it hard to maintain stable and healthy relationships with other people

What do I Offer?

Individual psychotherapy

The first three to five meetings are in a form of consultations before the start of the psychotherapy process. During those meetings a structural interview is performed, the goals of the therapy are established together with the therapist-patient contract. After this phase has been completed, it is possible to begin the psychotherapy and the sessions usually take place once or twice a week, 50 minutes per session.

On-line psychotherapy

The sessions take place on Whereby or Skype. The first three to five meetings are in a form of consultations before the start of the psychotherapy process. During those meetings a structural interview is performed, the goals of the therapy are established together with the therapist-patient contract. On-line sessions may lead to in person meetings, if such need arises.

Family consultations

The aim of such meetings is to discuss the difficulties in the functioning of a family, the factors which affect the relations between the family members and to work out the solution to improve the situation.

Consultations

Series of meetings which aim to solve the problems a patient may encounter in their everyday life. The main purpose of such meetings is to reduce the level of anxiety and to adapt to certain situations in life through analysis and self-reflection.
